Moab Family Vacation

Since Scott got work off for Veterans Day we decided to add a few more days on top of it and take a little family vacation down to Moab. Unfortunate Jacob and I both got sick the day that we were supposed to leave and as a prego person I'm not really allowed to take anything to help it. So I just had to suck it up and we packed and left. I'm glad that I only felt really sick that first day. The rest of the time I felt good. Jacob was also sick though and had a pretty nasty cough. We drove down and stayed with Melanie and Ben Thursday night and Jacob was coughing and wheezing we were wondering if we should go at all. Thankfully Melanie gave us some essential oils to use and they really seemed to work. Jacob didn't hardly cough all night and the wheezing was completely gone by morning. So we decided to continue our journey.

Our plan was to camp the whole trip to help save on costs. But by the morning of our first night camping I was done. Jacob hadn't slept well and ended up sleeping with us, which means I didn't sleep at all. It also kind of sucked because it got dark by 5:30 and it was cold so we just didn't really have anything to do from 5:30 till we went to sleep. I also forgot to bring my coat so I was feeling extra cold.

Because of all the circumstances we decided to just get a hotel and I think that was the best choice. It was a night hotel with a little kitchenette so we could still do all our own cooking. And they gave us a discounted price. It was really nice to be able to stay out until dark then have somewhere warm and lit we could go. Jacob and I also slept much much better in the hotel.

We spend most of our time in Arches National Park. We did a lot of hiking. Sadly our second day at Arches was a very windy day which meant lot of sand in the eyes. It was also a colder wind so if you were in the shade it got very cold very quickly. A lot of the canyons would create wind tunnels. It was still nice just would have been even better if the wind hadn't of been blowing.

 Double Arches

 Elephant Rock
 Garden of Eden
 Firery Furnace
 Balance Rock

 Delicate Arch

 Delicate Arch

 Landscape Arch

Jacob ran up and down rock hills and around cliffs and when does he bump a hole in his head? In the Hotel. We still don't even know what he did or how it happened. He just started crying and we turn around and he's sitting in the middle of the floor with blood dripping down his face.

We spent our last day in Canyonlands. Scott took us on an off-roading trail to get us there. He needed to test out the awesomeness of our outback. It exceeded his expectations! The road was pretty steep in places and we had to go slower because Jacob was sleeping and Scott was trying not to wake him up going over all the rocks and the car never slipped once. It just slowly made it's way up the sand, rocks and hills.

Canyonlands was pretty cool as well. It was different because in stead of all the rocks being higher than you like in Arches everything was lower than you in canyons so it looked pretty flat. It had some cool arches though and some other features.

All tuckered out after 3 days in Southern Utah

On our way back to Idaho we stopped and stayed the night with the Durtschi clan. It was really fun to spend some time with them. We also stopped by to say hi to Clarissa and to see her and Justin's new place in Salt Lake. It seems like a decent apartment and is a nice size. I'm not going to lie I'm a little sad they moved away... I was really excited to have them close by so that their baby and my baby could be play mates!

Our trip ended up being really awesome! It was really nice to just do something with our little family. Not that we don't love our trips with our extended family... But it was fun to be just the three of us as well.

24 Weeks

Baby girl received her first clothes from her Aunt Katrina and might I add that they are the cutest things ever!

I defiantly love girl clothes WAY more than boy clothes and just seeing the clothes got me all excited that I'm having a girl again! I showed them to Scott and he said, "Umm... How about we just decide right now that you take care of the girls and I'll just take care of Jacob." He's feeling just a little out of his element I think....
24 Weeks

Date: November 11, 2014

How far along? 24 Weeks

Total weight gain/loss: Up 14 lbs.

Maternity clothes?Yup! I think I want to buy another pair of maternity pants....

Sleep:Sleeping great! Waking up a couple times a night here and there but I usually can go back to sleep. The only time I can't go back to sleep if it's sometime after 5 am and Jacob is the one waking me up. For some reason when I hear him all the sudden I'm wide awake. It can get kind of annoying...

Movement: Starting to see her move around. It's fun to watch by belly when she kicks and turns. I'm excited for her to get a little bigger so the movements are more defined.

Feeling sick? I haven't thrown up in 2 weeks!!!!!!! YAY!!!!! This makes me so happy! I do still feel sick throughout the day here and there but we are defiantly on the right track!

Other pregnancy symptoms? I have been feeling really great the past couple weeks! Finally getting to that second trimester breeze I keep hearing about.

Have you started to show yet? I am for sure showing but I do not in anyway feel big yet. In fact... Sometimes I look at myself and think how small I look. Probably because I remember how big I am going to get.
24 Weeks
So the best thing that happened this past two weeks was finding the perfect dumpster changing table! I've been looking for one for awhile but they are really costly and I was having a hard time finding one with drawers. One day I was driving by the dumpster in the alley behind our house and there one was! It had a little water damage and wasn't the right color but with a little paint it turned into the perfect changing table. And it only cost me 15 bucks for the paint! So I'm super excited about that.

Before
 After

The other little craft I did was make a diaper shoot from Jacob's bedroom window to the garbage can out our back door. I just got really tired of his room smelling like dirty diapers all the time. I'm pretty proud of myself for coming up with the idea and it works great! Jacob also loves putting the diapers down the shoot. No more stinky room!

Halloween 2014

This year for Halloween I threw my first Halloween party! My mom and her sisters used to do this Halloween dinner party every once in awhile when I was growing up and I was able to be a server at one of them and I've always wanted to throw one myself but have never gotten around to it. This year was the year and I think it turned out great! We invited the Cromwell's, Phelps and Erickson's. I'm so sad that I didn't get any pictures of the guests. I had the camera out and everything but we just didn't do it. I did get some pictures of the decorations though.

Welcome to the Crossbone Cavern!

We had such a great time! I thought everything turned out prefect!

This year for Halloween I decided to make Jacob a mummy costume. Man..... Was it a lot of work! Don't worry... It only took like 3 tries before I figured it out. And that's only thanks to Becca Rogers for giving me the idea! I went to the thrift store and found and old cream colored sheet that I cut into strips and a one piece jumper to use as the base. The first attempt I just tried wrapping the strips around the jumper but that didn't work at all because it just fell off. The second time I tried wrapping it but putting some stitches here and there but that didn't really work either. Then Becca gave me the idea to us a hot glue gun to glue all the strips on and that worked perfectly! Then I needed to put in a zipper because I couldn't get it on him. So that was a disaster and a half! Only took me like 8 tried because the zipper kept getting stuck and broke. My first mistake was buying an invisible zipper which was just to fine for the costume. Then I bought a plastic invisible zipper foot for the sewing machine which was a joke because it was designed very poorly and wouldn't stay on the machine. I seriously got so so frustrated and almost threw the whole costume out the window. After going back to the store and getting a bigger zipper it worked much much better. The easiest part of the whole costume was the hat. I just crocheted a hat then glued strips of fabric around it. After all the time and frustration it paid off because I had the cutest looking mummy of all time! Jacob looked so cute in his costume! I loved it! We were able to do trunk or treating in Idaho Falls the weekend before Halloween. Then on Halloween we went trick or treating at Scott's office building then went to Driggs to do more trunk or treating. We came away with a pretty good candy stash.

22 Weeks

So I'm starting to feel like things are moving a little slower now that summer is winding down. These past couple weeks didn't go by quite as fast as the rest of the pregnancy has gone. I'm sure as we start hitting the holidays things will pick up again.

 Date: October 28, 2014

How far along? 22 Weeks

Total weight gain/loss: Up 10 lbs. No weight gain in two weeks! Most likely I'll just gain like 6 in the next two!

Maternity clothes? I decided to make the switch over to maternity clothes.... I just got to that stage where all my regular clothes just weren't fitting right and it was impossible to find anything to wear. So I pulled out the maternity clothes and am feeling much better now. Some of the shirts are still more on the big side. But I'd rather that than all my clothes being too small!

Sleep: I seem to wake up multiple times a night. But still sleeping good. I get up at least once a night to pee still.

Movement: Her kicks are starting to get a little more powerful! Some times she must jerk because out of nowhere my whole stomach will jerk.

Feeling sick? I am still feeling sick. I throw up about once or twice a week. Most days aren't too bad though. I will feel mildly nauseous in the mornings, early afternoon and evening on any given day. Some days I feel worse and on those days I take zofran and that always helps. Now I don't say this to complain! Just so that I can come back here and take a look during my future pregnancies. You definitely just get used to feeling kind of crappy everyday. Although it's still not the most fun.

Other pregnancy symptoms? I've been feeling really well other than being nauseous! I am definitely still suffering from pregnancy brain. I have gotten those weird calf cramps a couple times in the past couple weeks but have been able to flex fast enough to stop them from coming full on. All in all though feeling pretty good! No groin pain because I haven't been running or walking so that is nice although it's not very nice in the getting exercise department. I have starting going to the free per-natal water aerobics class when I can and that has been nice.

Have you started to show yet? Yes I am for sure showing. Not feeling big though. I can still lay on my stomach in bed although I'm sure baby doesn't think it's the most comfortable.

Names: So because of what happened with Jacob and names I have decided not to worry or get attached to any names. But Scott and I have still been throwing some name idea's around. Right now my top pick is Hazel. I heard it on a movie and loved it! Scott's top pick right now is Noelle. Which I also really like but I'm liking Hazel more. So we shall see....

Yesterday I went and looked at fabric to make baby girl a blanket! I found the cutest combinations and need to find just one more color pattern to make the blanket perfect! I'm so excited to make it! I hope I can find the pattern that I want.

I am not worried about jealously issues with Jacob and his new sister. I am however worried that Jacob might be a little too helpful with his sister. He LOVES babies and is so fascinated by them. My sister in law Janette just had a new baby and I asked Jacob if he wanted to hold her. It was seriously the cutest thing. He was so excited! While he held her he gave her big hugs and loved pointing out her facial features. After awhile Grandma Bergendorf asked him if he wanted her to take the baby. Jacob starting shaking his head frantically and enveloped Hailey in a huge hug! He did not want anyone to take his baby. It was so cute! I think he will do well with his baby sister. I just hope that she likes playing around and has as much energy as he does so they can be playmates!

20 Weeks

That's right everyone! It's a girl!!! I have to say that I'm pretty darn excited about this.. Like even more excited then I thought I would be! Although Scott has known it was a girl for the past couple months now he admitted that when he got into the ultrasound room he realized he hoped it was a boy. Not because he didn't want a little girl. Just that he's already raised a little boy and two Jacob's would be even better then one. He also admitted having a girl makes him nervous. :) I'm sure what he is feeling is no more different then how I felt after finding out Jacob was a boy. It definitely makes you a little nervous to have a child a different gender then yourself. All the sudden it scares you that you aren't going to be able to relate to your child and you wont know how to take care of them. But I can say now from first hand experience that it's not as hard as you think it's going to be. I have been able to relate to Jacob more then I thought I would be able to and I love having a little boy! I think Scott will come to find he experiences the same feelings. It was also a good thing we were finding out the gender because almost the very first shot of our little girl was of her bum as they tried to figure out exactly what position she was in so they could do all the measurements. It was a very very brief shot, just a scroll over really, but I guess when you've already seen what a boy looks like, and there is an appendage missing, was pretty obvious. So we knew before they even got to the gender revealing part of the ultrasound that it was a girl. They said they can't be 100% sure with girls ever but the ultrasound tech was about 97% sure it was a girl. :)

So baby girl Bergy is measuring perfectly! All of her measurements were around the 40th to 50th percentile and she weighs 12 ounces. :) This is much different then Jacob's 90th percentile measurements and 1 lb 1 ounce weight, which I'd have to say I'm perfectly fine with! Her biggest measurement was her femur bone at 53%. This was Jacob's smallest measurement. And her head was the smallest at 40%. Which was Jacob's biggest measurement. It's funny they are completely opposite in that sense. She was also in the heads down position which is great as long as she keeps it that
way! Everything on the ultrasound looked perfect and there weren't any signs of complications. And can I say I just love ultrasounds and being able to see my cute baby wiggle around all over the place! I loved watching her move and feel it at the same time. It really is just the greatest! The only sad part of a non complicated ultrasound is that we wont get more of them! With Jacob because of his large size and later because he was breech we got to have many many ultrasounds with him. Looks like Baby Girl Bergy is already cooperating better! And we want to keep it that way!

How far along? 20 Weeks, Half way there people!

Total weight gain/loss: Up 10 lbs. Now let's see if I only gain 10 more in the second half of my pregnancy. :)

Maternity clothes? I'm thinking of pulling those maternity pants out soon....

20 Weeks
Sleep: I've still been sleeping great!

Movement: Love feeling her move! Love having Scott feel her move as well!

Feeling sick? Yup, still throwing up every 4-6 days.

Other pregnancy symptoms? Some heartburn here and there. I also feel like some of those food aversions that I've had through my whole pregnancy are starting to leave me. Like eating bread, cheese and ground beef. I still don't have any desire whatsoever to eat a hamburger. I also really think salad looks soooo good. But it still doesn't taste good. Also I have started to feel so full after my evening meals even when I haven't eaten that much. I hate it. It feels so uncomfortable.  It's like it doesn't matter how little I eat it feels like I just ate a whole pizza by myself. I got this with Jacob as well. But I don't know if I got it this early...

Have you started to show yet? Yes I have. At 19 weeks a complete stranger asked me about being pregnant. That means I've passed the not looking prego just fat stage. YAY!

Now here is my first half progression pictures. I've also added my progression pictures of Jacob so you can see the difference. :) Jacob is obviously the blue one. ;)

Yellowstone Trip

Because Scott had Columbus Day off we decided to take a trip to Yellowstone National Park! We got up super early at 3:30 so we could hit the park as the sun was rising. One of our main focuses of this trip was wolf and bear spotting. Which is why we got up so early to get there. We borrowed my brothers spotting scope so we could see up close to all the action! I got a little sleep on our drive. :)

And Scott took some gorgeous pictures of the sunrise!

Scott was just happy because he got to drive on snow!

Good morning Jacob! Someone is his father's son and loves adventure! Love this picture but I can't believe how big it make my little boy look...
Love this hat we found for Jacob. It's the cutest!
We did spot a wolf pack! It was a lot of fun to watch them play and interact. We didn't get any pictures of them because they were way too far away.

Jacob looking at the wolves. :)

Selfie! Our selfies turned out the best.
Hiking down to the lower falls
 Lot's of stairs....
 Jacob was fascinated by them.
 Another family selfie!

Unfortunately we had to cut our trip down a little. I forgot my sister's had their last soccer game and I really didn't want to miss it. But we still had a lot of fun!

Clarissa's Baby Shower!

I was so excited to throw Clarissa a baby shower! Crystal and I put our heads together and came up with a pretty awesome theme and decorations. We decided to do a jungle theme with brown, orange and yellow as our colors. I made some pretty epic decorations.

It was funny because even though we didn't really tell anyone about the theme everyone gave her gifts based on that theme. So.... I really hope she doesn't mind her nursery being jungle themed because she has all the makings now to do so. It turned out so awesome though and I think that she loved it! We are so excited for little Baby Wages to join us in January!
