Manti Temple Pageant

Back in June Scott and I headed down to Ephraim, Utah with Scott's mom, Janette, Reily and Jersey to visit Aunt Denise and Uncle Lawrence's family! While we were down there Scott and I got to go to the Manti Temple for the first time. It was amazing! That temple just has such a strong spirit in it. Plus it's a live session and I LOVE live sessions.

Scott had a couple cousins in the Manti Temple Pageant which may or may not have been the main reason for the trip down to central Utah. Scott had been to the Pageant before when he was pretty young and I had never been before and had heard great things about it, so why not go when you have family in it!

Janette-n-kids with Jared. He was a Laminite for the pageant

 Gotta love Aunts....

The boys did a great job and the Pageant was great! Thanks again to the Durtschi Family for letting us come visit!

Tin Cup Challenge

Scott and I decided we wanted to get in shape this summer so we could do all the outdoor activities we wanted without feeling like we were going to die. So what better way to get in shape then to sign up for a big race we had to train for (The RRR)! At the beginning of my training I decided I wanted to run a 5K. I have never ran in a formal race before so I was pretty excited/nervous. Scott wanted to run as well but he has been suffering from shin splints and is taking it easy for awhile.

Aunt Beth was also running the 5K
 The beginning of the race
 The end of the race
Mom is my inspiration to run. She ran the half marathon faster then she ran it 20 years ago when she was in high school! She did awesome!

I ended up getting 3rd in my age group! Which I thought was pretty awesome....

One step closer to my big race!

Happy Anniversary to me!

Well one year has passed since I married my man and we had the most amazing first anniversary! I feel like we probably set the bar pretty high for it being our first, but oh well :)

I can't believe it has already been a year. We've definitely played hard and had some pretty fun adventures, but back to our anniversary. I decided it would be cool on our first anniversary to have a day of firsts. So I spent 3 months prior to our actual anniversary planning this thing. And it's a good thing I did because May was one crazy month for me work wise. Pulling 12 hour days like every day... but anyways. So I used the gps to set up a little scavenger hunt that sent us all of eastern Idaho. And for each location I wrote a poem that told the special event that had taken place at that location and gave him a gift that was significant for the event that took place.

I started the hunt by giving Scott a poem with the coordinates on it to our first location.

Here is Scott reading the first poem

Scott's parents house was our first stop: It was here that we had our first kiss, and I gave him a bag of kisses. (Scott absolutely loved the scavenger hunt! He had a huge grin on his face the whole day) :)

We then went to the Melaluca parking lot where he first told me he loved me. We had gone to the dirve-in earlier that night and so for his gift I gave him the two movies we had seen at the drive-in.

Here was a big truck we saw on fire during our scavenger hunt

Next we headed up to Rexburg to the Hart building at BYU-I where Scott had taken me on our first date. We went to guitars unplugged so I got him an inflatable guitar :) We then rein-acted our first date and went our to eat at Gator Jack's and got blizzards at Dairy Queen for lunch.

From there we went to the the stadium field at BYU-I where we had first met taking a soccer class together. I got him a new soccer ball :)

We then went to his old apartment at Arborcove where we decided we would officially become a couple. I got him on of those willow tree figurines titled "together". (Ok... This present was really for me. He couldn't get everything!)

Driggs was our next stop at the good old Spud Drive-In where we first held hands. I got him a new pair of nice outdoor gloves. (You know, holding hands... gloves... )

Next we headed up to Targhee where I proceeded to make Scott hike up the hill because the ski lifts aren't running anymore. So we hiked until we hit snow. It was at Targhee where Scott proposed to me. So I got him a ring pop and a clip for his gps. (If you don't know why the gps thing was significant. See my photo album GPS Waypoint on facebook) :) Don't mind the funny face...

We made our way back to Idaho Falls from there to the Idaho Falls Temple where we were sealed for all eternity! I gave him a glass cube that has the Idaho Falls Temple in it with a stand that rotates and lights up.

Scott is loading the coordinates to our final destination

Here is a picture of all the balloons and gifts in the back after our day of scavenger hunting. :) All the balloons say Happy Anniversary on them.

Our last stop was at the Le Ritz Hotel in the same room we stayed in our wedding night. There I had the top tier of our wedding cake, some sparkling cider and some other fun things ;) We then ordered in Pizza Hut just like we did our wedding night for dinner.

Here's our cake! One year old. It wasn't that good... A little dry. But I'm glad we had it just so we could say we did it. Thanks Mom for keeping it in your freezer for us!

Everything turned out so perfectly! And I want to thank all my friends and family who helped out. It really couldn't have happened without the coordination of everyone. So thank you!

And I guess I shouldn't leave out Scott's gift for me :)
Scott got me a really amazing picture of the Idaho Falls Temple that I love so much! In the corner is says, The Bergendorf Family, Established 2011, Idaho Falls Temple. Thank you again Scott! I love love love it!

The picture doesn't do it justice... Its about 18" by 36" and beautiful!

Like I said, it was a pretty amazing anniversary. I couldn't think of anyone in the world I'd rather be married to. Thank you Scott for making life a fun adventure!

Hear them Wedding Bells Ringing

This year we got to welcome one of Scott and I's best friend, Chris Latin, into the married group! Which makes me so excited! One thing I've noticed is that once you get married you want ALL your friends to get married. The wedding was down in California by LA. Since it was our anniversary weekend we decided it would make the perfect anniversary get away. One of our other best friends from New York, Carlos, came to the wedding as well. It was great spending the weekend with him. We don't hardly ever get to see him anymore now that he's making the big bucks in New York. We had a day to play before the wedding so we decided to go to Universal Studios.

Scott and I in front of the Universal Studios Globe
In front of the Globe with our good friend Carlos!

It was cool because they had a new ride that had opened just that day. So that meant all the other rides were open because everyone was just riding the new ride. We hit the ride first thing in the morning and only had to wait 10 minutes. The wait was over an hour after a couple hours of the the ride being open.

The new Transformers Ride!
The Transformers Robots... These costumes were way super cool!

We had a lot of fun at Universal Studios. We got everything done and seen that we wanted to and there was just the right mixture of adventurous rides and entertainment. I'm glad we got to go.

Who Ville!!!
 Air plane crash

And one of my personal favorite show. Water World

I'd now like to thank generous, selfless, people who let complete strangers borrow their cars. We had a little bit of over heating problems with our car while we were in Cali. We are super grateful to Carissa Fowers for letting us borrow her car for the weekend after ours broke down. We were easily able to get back to our Hotel after the bachelor and bachelorette parties and back to the wedding in the morning because of it.

The wedding was great! Couldn't quite completely hold back the tears. It's just awesome to see your good friends getting married. I wish the best of luck to Chris and Heather on this new adventure. Congrats to the both of you! Sorry... We didn't take any pictures of the wedding...

Bringing us up to the Present

After arriving to Idaho Falls we moved in with Scott's parent's. This was our temporary living location while both of us looked for jobs so we could get our own place. We were only a month away from Christmas and we really really wanted to have an apartment before Christmas so we could celebrate our first Christmas together alone. Well we got lucky and I was able to find a job at a call center on the 21st of December! Cutting it a little close I know. But we were very excited and had an apartment on hold for us and were able to move in a week before Christmas. It was a very busy week getting everything moved in and Christmas decorations up along with the tree before Christmas.

Here are some pictures of our cute new apartment! I really love it so much. The only down side is it's kind of inconvenient for visitors...
Here is the living room

The kitchen

The bedroom

The desk

and the closet, vanity and bathroom!

Christmas was very nice! It was a little weird not being with the family, but it was great to be able to start our own traditions. Christmas eve was spent with the Hansen family, then we went back to Idaho Falls so we could do our own thing Christmas morning. Then Christmas afternoon we headed over to the Bergendorf's to hang out with them. All in all it was a great Christmas.

Now for some Christmas decorations!

 The tree

Christmas Morning! Cricket was very exited for her stocking :)

Scott was very excited as well.

We def splurged a little on presents for the other. But I didn't was to brag by all our cool gifts so I just posted pics of our main gifts to each other. Scott got me a kindle. Which I am really enjoying!

I got Scott a nice camera... Well, nicer then the one he had. He seems to be liking a lot more then his old camera.

Scott was able to find a job the beginning of January at a different call center as a Sony Playstation technician working on the french line, which was nice because he was able to keep up on his french speaking. By the end of January I was able to get my old job back at the Architect firm which has been awesome! and a couple months after that Scott received a job working for the State of Idaho's water resource department doing hydrology work. We are feeling very very blessed to have both found jobs in our career field and doing work we love.

Now we are just living in Idaho Falls, in a cute apartment that I love, working the jobs we love and just enjoying life.

Now for some fun adventures we've gone on!

Taking Cricket on a scooter ride!

Going shooting!

 I'm soooo cool

And there is my sexy man!

Had to make the traditional heart shaped pancakes for Valentines Day!

Scott loved them. :)

Scott's Valentines Day present for me.

I surprised Scott with dinner at work! Scott and I had opposite schedules at this time and so this was the only time we saw each other all day. It was very tasty and Scott really was surprised.

I decided I needed a change and permed my hair! My sister was a great sport and helped me even though she was really sick.

The finished product. Thanks Clarissa!

For Scott's birthday (Which was in January) I got him a back country skiing day pass! I know. I'm an awesome wifey :)

And of course we couldn't call it a winter without hitting up the slopes.

At the end of March Scott and I went down to Zions National Park in Southern Utah. It was the perfect time to go because it wasn't crowded and wasn't to hot! This was breakfast

 Hiking up Angel's Landing

Scott at the highest point on Angles Landing

It was very pretty on the top but quite the intense hike.

This was in Hidden Canyon

A shoe tree

And of course we couldn't go on an adventure without geocaching! This was the result of one of our caching we went to find.

We stopped at Cove Creek Ranch Fort on our way back to Idaho from Southern Utah.

Scott got to propose to me again using a horse shoe nail ring. It was cute :)

And Rocking Climbing!!!!!!
